Zero Waste Future
A digital platform that brings the Circular Economy to all Ho.Re.Ca. businesses for free.
Zero Waste Future was created in 2018 by Coca-Cola in Greece, in collaboration with the Ecological Recycling Society (OEA) and with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation, as part of the company’s global vision “For a Waste Free World”. It is a long-term, holistic legacy programme that aims to inspire people to adopt recycling and circular economy practices in their daily lives, showing how waste can have a second and third life, and be treated as a resource that can create shared development opportunities for a better future.
“Zero Waste Future” inspires owners and café-restaurants & hospitality professionals to adopt Recycling and Circular Economy practices in their daily lives. They give a second life to recyclable waste, such as plastic, so that it can then be used again and again, contributing to a better and more sustainable future.
The platform provides useful information regarding the legal framework for integrated waste management, best practices within the Ho.Re.Ca. industry and industry specific guides for zero waste practices.
Moreover, through the Zero Waste Award system, the Zero Waste network and structured promotional activities the initiative provides strong motives to Ho.Re.Ca. businesses to follow zero waste practices.
