Moving forward in sustainable entrepreneurship through the European ReStart project
On 19 and 20 June, a new transnational meeting of the European project ReStart-Reinforcing the Circular Economy Model for Startups took place in Alicante. On this occasion FUNDEUN played the role of host in Spain of the consortium that is led by GrantXpert (Cyprus) as well as the partners Danmar Computers (Poland), Hellenic Open University and Innovation Hive from Greece, Universidade da Beira Interior, in Portugal. The meeting completed the review of the entrepreneurship tools and the training content that will be made available to university students and entrepreneurs who are going to launch new business projects and can incorporate, from the beginning, the principles of the circular economy. In addition, the meeting established the guidelines for the development of a guide that will facilitate the learning process of circularity for trainers and mentors who want to use it as a means of working with these new sustainable projects.
On the other hand, the consortium was invited by the Instituto de Calzado y Conexas-INESCOP to visit the Circular Economy Demonstrator, which INESCOP, together with the Instituto Tecnológico del Juguete-AIJU and the Instituto del Textil (AITEX) have developed in Elda. This developer is a good local example as it is the first industrial plant in Europe capable of converting waste from these three sectors into reusable material.
