The academy and business holding hands
Took place last November 21st, 2022, the NECE TALKS which was a joint initiative of the Research Center in Business Sciences (NECE), the Faculty of Social sciences and Humanities (FCSH) of the Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), and its Advisory Board. This event aims to strengthen the link between the University and Companies by sharing experiences and resources that allow them and the community to benefit from the technical capacity and knowledge of UBI’s specialized human resources to support management decisions. Several companies attended the event, along with researchers, and the Portuguese Minister of Economy and Sea, António Costa e Silva.
Thus, several initiatives and projects involving the collaboration of companies were disclosed.
Arminda do Paço, the coordinator of the Re-Start project (Reinforcing the circular economy model for START-ups), explained that it involves seven organizations from five European countries and intends to contribute to the development of strategies that foster entrepreneurship in the circular economy. The project aims to create a set of valuable tools for the development of a circular business plan. In addition, a training program with Open Educational Resources (OER) and a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) will be developed. RE-START will provide young people with the necessary knowledge to create and refine their circular business creation strategy, always keeping in mind the need for innovation and sustainability.
